Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Successful completion of a background screening/check/investigation is required as a condition of hire.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience creating and submitting invoices on government contracts for Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Time and Material (T&M) and Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contracts
  • Demonstrated understanding of direct costs (material, supplies, labor, or equivalent), overhead costs, and General & Administrative (G&A) costs.  Ability to generate indirect rate structure.
  • Compliance matters for Syzygy with respect to FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) Parts 30 & 31, as well as the administration of CAS (Cost Accounting Standards)
  • Demonstrated ability to support and liaison with DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) and DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency) concerning various audits, negotiations of incurred cost submissions, advance agreements and other inquiries made by these and other agencies
  • Maintain Corporate Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) Disclosure Statements
  • Familiar with using Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) especially for submitting government invoicing.
  • Demonstrated ability to support multiple projects simultaneously tracking tasks and working with stakeholders across a matrixed organization
  • Issue annual incurred cost notices across the company
  • Perform/calculate, as necessary, cost impact analysis of accounting changes resulting from modifications to CASB disclosure standards
  • Support overall Corporate Controller activities in Government Accounting and Compliance as required
  • Understanding of QuickBooks for financial entries
  • Ability to generate spend to date on direct and indirect programs to be shared with program, technical and company leadership
  • Oversight of program financials for Orders, Sales, EBIT, and Cash including preparation of financial reports and briefings to leadership.
  • Familiar with payroll processing in third party tools (e.g. Gusto)
  • Ability to work with vendors on accounts receivable
  • Experience with government contract close-outs and responds to request for information in the possession of the government contracts department.
Qualifications/Experience Needed
  • 3-5 years progressive experience in government accounting, public accounting, or private industry or 5 years with an advanced degree
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • General understanding of CAS and FAR rules and regulations
  • Interpret regulatory issues and provide appropriate written responses
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills such as Pivot Tables, V-look and H-look up, conditional formatting etc.
  • Ability to foster cooperative relationships within other company functions/organizations as well as with our professional counterparts at DCAA/DCMA
